Why is it so hard to find a good editor?
I've had some bad experiences working with video editors over the years, should that stop me from collaborating?

I've been in this situation, using cheap equipment, actors cancelled last minuet, noisy location also being chased out from the location by the owner. Those old days. We can't afford those sound equipment, just rely on the build in camera mic. That is, Samsung SMX-C10 and a cheap $6 tripod.. what can go wrong? 😁😁

I gave up painting when I realized I wasnt any good at it and wasnt going to get any better - I had someone give back a painting I gave them and someone else tell me they threw both paintings I gave them in the trash After that I decided to take a long hard look at what I was doing and what I was making and realized she was right - those paintings did belong in the trash - and so do all the rest - so thats where they all ended up - I wasted 15 years fooling myself that I was good at something, despite all evidence to to the contrary only to finally realize I wasnt Thats why I stopped - and if you decide to do the same - that is ok

For me it's what's in the frame. If you don't have the time or budget to create epic spaces, shallow depth of field can hide background elements that aren't pleasing to the frame. You could call it a, 'cheat code', but then again, it could also be seen as just another tool at our fingertips that we could use to create a cinematic image. 'Hidalgo', is a good example. According to IMDB it was shot on S35 and they used T2 - T2.8 lenses. I can often get obsessed with wanting T1.5 or wider lenses only. Movies like Hidalgo prove that although wider lenses do offer more options in terms of low-light and depth of field options, T2 - T2.8 lenses can still achieve very cinematic images. It's up to the user to create/find them. ps: I haven't seen one of your videos for a while DSLRguide, I appreciate your attention to detail. Great video mate!

Nice video... The harder-to-find streak filter is the clear one. Obviously, a streak filter does not alter the aspect ratio of the lens but provides "suggestive" anamorphic flare "effect" under specific circumstances

I went down the vintage 2x squeeze route using a 58mm Helios, sankor, and a Slr magic single focus diopter… I finally completed this build just slightly before 1.33 sq ‘affordable’ lenses came out… It’s a beast but, as the 58mm vignettes a bit, losing 20% -25% fixes that also… I should really use it more. The footage looks incredible 🔥

I don’t know if I’ll ever be as good as the greats, but at least there is something to aspire to. I feel some degree of assurance just knowing that I’ve tried. I used to idolize Mozart and Beethoven. I wanted to be just like them. Now I’ve realized I am not those people, but I still use the inspiration as fuel. Thanks for the upload!

It's important to note that the listed 1.6x anamorphic is listed in 3:2 open gate, so a 1.6x anamorphic lens on a 16:9 sensors is equivalent to a 2.0x anamorphic lens with a small crop, which also helps soften the image up. This is another reason to buy this lens over the 1.33x anamorphic. Sony has these really annoy gaps in their software in their cameras that appears like they are trying to protect their cinema cameras.

This is lovely. Thanks for sharing your process! I've struggled with letting go of control when working with editors, and it eases me out to watch you taking a step back and approaching it objectively. I also don't think I've ever found a cinematographer or editor I entirely trust - but am now beginning to wonder if that's to do with how much freedom I give them. Thanks, and I hope you reach 1M on your channel soon!

I wanted to make art into a full time job, wanted to have a successful art RUclips/social media and sell my art etc. but I’m so tired of burning out monthly-weekly. Crying every time I try drawing and recording something, but I keep coming back thinking there’s still a chance I can do better and maybe I can improve if I just change one more thing. But no. Nothing is changing. I watch videos all day everyday trying to learn what direction to go in but I wonder if maybe I wasn’t supposed to make art as a job. I see no success in what I’m doing, already spent money yet still make nothing. Anyways, I’m putting everything into this and I see no result. I’m so tired. Maybe someone can help me or give me some advice? Maybe someone relates to this. 😭😭😭

Bro this video makes me feel so much better even reading these comments like here's my pick now: when I was a kid I knew exactly what I be because art and drawing was the only thing I'm good about even I study different artists and everything, there's a curtain point in my life that fell out of hand to me and realized not everyone means what they say you know, and to make it worse there's people younger than me that's succeeding the Hobby that I want to do, hell they're making their own merchandise, plushie, have the best support in the world yet I have none that nor do I even get started on those things yet, even though i keep saying i will get there and make it and hope i get to publish my own manga/comic one day, but no gears to gwt there, it took me like right now to get my own iPad and that's crazy I'm still waiting on buying it wish I was get the iPad before, even my younger cousins got one before me and she knows what she wants to do on it and she's doing a better job on her passion more than I am, I just want to give up and let it go on what I really like to do because life is already struggling enough why i takes breaks and hiatus because how bad my life can be, I feel like I'll get there I don't know but all I know is I won't give up what makes me feel good that I'm not the only one that feels this way
